WSQ PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Lead Team (16 hours)

Accounting team leaders today need to lead their team, align their plans to fit well with the overall organisation direction and protocols such as delivery of timely financial reports to stakeholders and confidential information distribution. This course will guide new accounting managers to facilitate implementation of team strategy, compliance with corporate governance requirements and leading team direction.

Manage Achievement of Results (16 hours)

Accounting team leaders need to get a better understanding of their teams to develop, implement and measure their team performance. This course helps accounting leaders to develop team plans, manage and reward team performance and monitor implementation of team plans.

Manage Self (16 hours)

As accounting leaders are often looked up upon as role models for their team members, they must commit to self-development and be assessed constantly with their own performance and leadership style. They should also evaluate current and future requirements of own work role in relation to organisational strategies and stay relevant in the required areas of technical and managerial expertise. This course covers on how accountants can communicate effectively, influencing decision making and demonstrating a commitment to self-development.

Enable People (16 hours)

Strong leadership cannot exist without any skilled and competent accounting members. This course guides accounting leaders on how they can identify the skills requirements and gaps of their team members, facilitating learning opportunities and coaching future leaders.

Manage Change (16 hours)

In recent years, accounting professionals are challenged by emerging of new trends such as FinTech, cyber security, and data revolution and compliance. This course specifically covers on innovation, implementing change strategies and evaluating the impact of change for accountants in the future.

Cultivate Workplace Relationships (16 hours)

Accountants today play a bigger role in their organisations than before and they have to step out of their comfortable boundaries to seek opportunities within and outside of the organisation to engage stakeholders meaningfully. With changing team dynamics, accounting leaders need to build an environment for workplace diversity and overcome barriers to build good team relationships and manage various interpersonal styles and conflicts. This course covers on key soft skills such as building relationships, promoting diversity and managing conflict in the workplace.

Solve Problems and Make Decisions at Supervisory Level (16 hours)* Elective Module

Accounting managers are often called upon to make sound and rational decisions to solve problems for their teams. This course aims to equip them with useful tools and techniques necessary to lead work teams and help them to examine, identify and manage organisational performance deficiencies.

Establish Relationships for Customer Confidence (12 hours) *Elective Module

Today accountants do not work independently from others. They need to engage with various stakeholders to achieve team and organisational goals. Hence they need to identify their internal customers they serve and how they build rapport and relationships that last. This course guides accountants on building customer confidence in the organisation and developing customer relationships that build customer loyalty.

ACCA members and other professional accountants will be to use these courses to help meet their annual CPD requirements. Each hour of training will usually entitle them to 1 CPD unit.

Course Fee Subsidies and Absentee Payroll Funding are available for employers sponsoring employees who are either Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents for these WSQ qualifications.

COURSE FEE SUBSIDIES

Course Fee Subsidies for employer-sponsored training are available for these courses. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can enjoy up to 90% of course fees funding with Enhanced Training Support for SMEs.

If an enterprise has Singaporean employees who are earning not more than $2,000 per month and are 35 years old and above, they will also benefit from the Workfare Training Support (WTS) scheme when they are sponsored for training.

 

ABSENTEE PAYROLL

In addition to this, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) also funds employee’s salary while he/she is undergoing training. One may apply for Absentee Payroll Funding via the SkillsConnect portal.
