The programme not only kept me abreast of the latest research and developments in my field, it elevated my self-awareness, allowing me to identify my work preferences, and guided me towards my next career of choice.

The lecturers flew into Singapore to teach every 3 months and they were nothing short of brilliant and engaging, ensuring that every lesson was enjoyable, relatable and practical. Even when they were not in Singapore, it was easy to keep in constant contact via Moodle.

Looking back, I’m glad I decided to study with Monash not only because of their rankings, study schedule or the fact that it is an assignment-based programme, I appreciate the many resources they provided and the good learning pace for working adults. I am also grateful to my friend for recommending this programme to me.

I graduated from Nanyang Polytechnic with a Diploma in Business Management. While my peers went overseas or to other institutions, I decided to search for something locally that would fit my needs.

I chose to take up a Double Major in Psychology and Management because the Degree programme allows me to study people-related topics. Equipped with this field of knowledge, I could then influence the lives of youths and improve on my interactions with them.

I have chosen to study with Murdoch University due to its global reputation. As an educator, I believe I can have positive impact on children and parents by applying the knowledge and skills gained from this Degree programme.

What I appreciate most is the nurturing learning environment, where lecturers constantly encourage us to ask questions. In addition, the small class size opens up abundant opportunities for everyone to participate and grow together. As Psychology focuses on building my understanding of human dynamics in the workplace, I believe that the skills gained will go far in helping me easily connect with fellow educators in Singapore.

During my research for a suitable programme, I was torn between doing an MBA or the Masters in Education. I was keen to pick up a programme that would further my career in my industry of passion. The Masters of Education ticked most of my criteria. It allowed me to study on topics that were directly related to my line of work and gave me balance between research work and real-world application of that research.

The programme not only enhanced my credibility as an educator and learning specialist, but also deepened my insights into educational decision-making processes that my clients employ. This, in turn, has helped me greatly in my current role as an Assistant Solutions Director for a Regional Education Solutions Provider, where I work closely with senior managers and C-Suite level decision makers in higher educational and professional education institutes regionally.

Programme taken: Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood (Top-up)

I was a Centre Principal before deciding to study for a Bachelor’s Degree, and chose this programme to expand my knowledge to the wider aspects of Early Childhood Education. I selected Monash University because it was in the World’s Top 100 universities. The class schedules were also flexible and suited working adults like myself.

Apart from focusing on a child’s academic learning, this programme has equipped me with skills and knowledge on incorporating other aspects such as ‘Art’ and ‘Music’ into a child’s education. This is critical for Educators as it is in line with the latest Childhood Education trends that include providing children with ‘play-based’ learning opportunities. The Singapore Government has also introduced various strategies for Early Childhood Educators to be given more recognition and more parents will be able to understand the importance of an educator’s role in shaping their child’s future by building a strong foundation.

I graduated from Serangoon Junior College and I was not qualified for a course in the local universities. However, I have always wanted to pursue Psychology since my secondary school days.

I wanted to have a better understanding of myself and the people around me. I felt that studying Psychology can provide me greater insights into mental wellness. Thus, I took up Diploma in Counselling with Kaplan.

After obtaining my Diploma, I am now pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with Murdoch University at Kaplan.

Kaplan offers many choices. I decided to choose Murdoch University due to its global recognition and strong presence in Singapore.

As I am working full-time while pursuing my degree, Murdoch University’s flexible study schedule makes it easy for me to balance between work and studies. It also provides me with reasonable timelines to submit my assignments and prepare for exams. The location is a plus point as it is easily accessible by public transport.

The lecturers are also approachable and helpful as they would schedule sessions outside lessons to help us with our assignments. They have made learning an enjoyable experience for students.

I would definitely recommend this Bachelor’s Degree programme to those who want to further study in Psychology.

After completing my first part-time Degree in International Business with Murdoch University in Kaplan, I have more time to serve the community.

It was then that I realised that if I want to help more people, I needed to equip myself with the right skills, such as counselling, understanding how people think. I decided to take up another Degree – Psychology. It was also to fulfil my childhood dream of learning Psychology.

Since I am working in HR, the study of Psychology helps. Most of the time I am dealing with people. Understanding how people think and behave helps in better communication and helps me to complete my tasks more efficiently.

I have chosen Murdoch University because it is a reputable university and offers a wide range of Bachelor’s Degree programmes.  The other factor is due to its location. It is easily accessible. I can get to class on time and go home early.

The lecturers are very understanding as they know the challenges of being a part-time student who work during the day. Lessons are conducted after working hours or weekends, thus, making it convenient for the working adults.

Working in a multinational company, it is very important to understand the different cultures and the right techniques in working with them, this course helps me in understanding all these.
