Master of Education with specialisation in Leadership, Policy and Change

Structure and Content

The MEd with specialisation in Leadership, Policy and Change program consists of 6 courses, which may be completed in 18 months as follows:

EDF6822  Leadership and Organisation 
EDF6823  Management and Change 
EDF6828  Resource Management 
EDF6010  Professional Project 

Entry Requirement

A recognised University degree or equivalent professional qualification with substantial documented teaching and/or executive/managerial experience, and a sound command of the English language.

 

Postgraduate courses offered by the faculty which do not include a practicum have the following minimum English language requirements:

 

  • At least two years of study (preferably in the last five years) in a university or approved tertiary institution where English is the language of instruction and assessment of the entire institution, and this is verified by the institution;

OR

  • IELTS (academic) of at least 6.5 with at least 6.5 on reading and listening and at least 6.0 on writing and speaking;

OR

  • Paper-based TOEFL score of at least 580 with a TWE of at least 4.5, or an internet-based score of at least 90 with at least 22 on writing and speaking and 20 on listening and reading. [Note: a computer-based TOEFL score of at least 237 with an Essay Rating (ER) of at least 4.5 will be accepted for entry in 2008, but it is no longer valid from 2009 onwards.]

OR

  • Successful completion of the Monash University English Language Bridging Program (MUELBP) or an equivalent program, at the approriate level.

 

Note: All test scores must be no more than 2 years old at the time of application [or accompanied by evidence of subsequent substantial study in a tertiary institution where courses are taught and assessed in English.]

Delivery Method

The program provides a total of 120 seminar/workshop hours; or 20 hours per unit delivered 100% by Monash University faculty. Each course will be delivered independently over a 3 month period. Classes are generally held after office hours in the evening / or over weekends/public holidays.

Assessment Methods

Each courses will be formally assessed by reports, essays, and/or case studies, at the discretion of the Professors.

Graduation and Degree

Already 13 successful intakes in Singapore. Graduates will be allowed to use the title MEd (Monash) after their names. The degree will be the same as that awarded to on-campus students of the University.
