The Examinations
Examination Duration and Format
- Examinations for Education Program are held three times a year - Mar/Apr, Jul/Aug and Nov
Rules of Progression
- New entrants into the CFP® Certification Programme are allowed to attempt a maximum of three new modules, where Module 1 is compulsory and the other two is made up from Modules 2 to 5, at the first examination sitting
- Thereafter, candidates are allowed to attempt any or all Modules 2, 3, 4 and 5 at each examination sitting if they have passed Module 1. Otherwise, they are only allowed to attempt a maximum of two new modules per examination sitting, to be accompanied by Module 1
- Module 6 can only be attempted upon the successful completion of Modules 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Module 6 will comprise of a Case Study (w.e.f. Jan 2010)
- There is no limit to the number of times a candidate may retake a module examination. However, the candidate is required to pay the current applicable examination fees for each intake. Candidates studying for the CFP® Certification Education Program are reminded that they are entitled to a maximum of 7 years to complete the program
- If the candidate is unable to complete the 6 modules after the 7 years, he/she will be required to re-register for the CFP® Certification Education Program course. In other words, he/she is required to re-take Modules 1-6 (exceptions apply for AFPCM and AWPCM). However, if the candidate is only left with Module 6 before completing the CFP® Certification Education Program, he/she may write a formal request to FPAS for a 12-month extension of the 7-year completion requirement. Approval is strictly subjected to FPAS Management's discretion, and an admin fee of $25 must be submitted together with your request
- All examinations are conducted using the pencil-and-paper format
- Candidates are required to complete the following 6 Modules of the CFP® Certification:

Student Membership Registration
- Candidates enrolling in the AFPCM / AWPCM / CFP® Program must apply for FPAS student membership by completing the FPAS Student Membership Registration Form online at http://www.fpas.org.sg/Forms-MEM.asp
- The current year's annual membership fee is pro-rated, based on your date of application as per the table below:

- Subsequent renewal date will be on 31st December of each year.
- Cheque should be crossed and made payable ‘FPAS’. Please send the cheque and a printed copy of your online registration form to this address:

Kindly note that the FPAS Online Student Membership Registration must be accompanied by a cheque payment to be received by FPAS within 14 days or by the stipulated registration deadline, whichever is earlier. This transaction will automatically be voided if FPAS does not receives payment by then.
