Preparatory Course for Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)
Exemptions
ACCA offers exemptions for those who have LCCI or ITE qualifications. All students must contact ACCA to confirm their exemptions.
Applicants registering as students for the first time and wish to apply for exemptions must include certificates and detailed transcripts of all relevant papers taken at other examinations. It is not necessary to fill up an exemption form. A note may be attached with the initial application form indicating the exemptions sought. Nevertheless, exemptions will be assessed by ACCA automatically, if any, upon initial registration.
Students who wish to apply for additional exemptions after registration will have to fill up a further exemption application form, subject to a validity period of 6 months of your additional qualification. The completed form must be submitted with certified true copies of the relevant results and/or certificates, by 15 January (for June examinations) and 15 July (for December examinations).
For a comprehensive list of exemptions granted for ACCA and CAT, please visit the ACCA website at http://www.accaglobal.com/join/exemptions.
Please note that the exemption guidelines on the ACCA website serve as a reference only. The final decision still rests on the discretion of ACCA.
On being granted the exemptions, students will have to pay exemption fees to ACCA. Exemption fees for ACCA are payable as follows:
- Knowledge - £55 per paper
- Skills - £69 per paper
For CAT students, there are no exemption fees for Introductory & Intermediate Levels.
- Advanced Level - £49 per paper.
The exemption fees are to be paid to ACCA immediately upon receiving confirmation.
