Ang-Yeo Siow Pin

Mrs Ang holds both the ACCA and CPA qualifications, and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from National University of Singapore. She lecturered at Ngee Ann Polytechnic for 9 years and taught the Financial and Cost Management modules in the Accountancy and Business Studies Diplomas. A three-time nominee, she was conferred the Academic Award (Teaching) in the year 2004. She has also accumulated 10 years of accounting and finance working experience with an MNC, a financial services company and a public listed conglomerate, involved in financial/investment analysis, internal audits, process/systems re-engineering and the computerisation of an accounting department, besides handling functional accounting responsibilities. Mrs Ang uses creative teaching methods to energize students and help them understand and apply knowledge, and extends herself outside class to coach/mentor self-motivated students to succeed in both studies and life.

Emmy Choi

Emmy has a Bachelor of Economics (Accountancy major) from Monash University, Australia and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, Australia. She has extensive experience as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers and several internationally renowned banks in Melbourne, Hong Kong and Singapore. Specialising in operational risk management and internal audit, Emmy has authored several articles in this area. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. She joins Kaplan on part-time basis.

 
Chu Mui Kim

Mui Kim graduated with an accountancy degree from National University of Singapore with honours. She is a CPA and holds an MBA postgraduate degree from University of Southern Queensland, Australia. She has been an associate lecturer with SIM since 1998, lecturing on auditing, accounting and finance subjects and has trained executives from major corporations. Mui Kim cherishes her role as a mentor and lecturer, where she can inspire her students and help them maximise their potential in their studies.

Jow Lee Ying

Lee Ying holds a Masters degree in International Taxation from the University of Sydney and her research in this area has been published in an internationally renowned journal. She is currently working for the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, where she is involved in corporate and international taxation. Her professional work experience includes tax policy formulation at the Ministry of Finance and investment promotion at the Economic Development Board.

Ng Mei Yien

Mei Yen has over 12 years of audit and regional finance and controlling experience, of which 6.5 years are within an asset management company, and 2 years are in banks. Her expertise is in the areas of financial planning and budgeting, strategic planning, developing and implementing new initiatives.

Mei Yen graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Second Class (Upper) Honours in Accoountancy. Being intrigued by finance and numbers, she obtained her CFA and CPA in 2000 and 2001 respectively.

 
Saraswathi Turairas

Saras has more than 7 years of experience in Lecturing, Auditing and Accounting with specialisations in External Auditing, Finance and Management Accounting in private sectors. A familiar name in Kaplan (Institute of Higher Learning), Canadian School of Advanced Learning, PSB, University of London and Oriental School of Business, she is also a recognised international figure for training auditors in ACCA professional qualification of the “Big 4” in the Indo-China region. Saras has trained graduands from the University of Southern Queensland in Financial and Management Accounting as well as Government schools for Accounting, Finance, Economics and Management.

She is also an author of articles that provide insights and innovative directions challenging today’s Accounting and Finance practices.

 

 
Mary Tan

Mary is a Chartered Financial Consultant and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She has over 17 years of accumulated teaching experience in Accounting, Finance, Cost and Management Accounting courses with leading educational institutions in Singapore. She was previously with a local audit firm with vast experience in auditing, accounting, corporate secretarial and tax related work. She is currently a Chartered Financial consultant with a leading life assurance company.

Shermeen Tan

Shermeen holds a Bachelor of Arts from National University of Singapore and an MBA from the University of Hull, UK. She is a trained EQ coach and a Behavioural Consultant for D.I.S.C. Personality Profiling. Her forte is EQ, self-management, management, communications, supervisory skills, customer service and other soft-skills training. Shermeen has trained both government bodies, MNCs and SMEs, and is a lecturer for the ACCA Paper 4 and JCU.

Suzannah Tan

Suzannah is a CPA with a Bachelors degree in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University. She accumulated more than 12 years of accounting and managerial experience in both the private and public sectors before embarking on a teaching career. She has a diploma in TESOL and was also a course writer for an online English program for ACCA students. Suzannah is committed to developing firm accounting and finance foundations in her students through a practical and problem solving approach.

Nicholas Woo

Nicholas is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and
