    How does financial theory aid corporate decision making? How do banks manage risks across global markets? The past 20 years have seen banks and financial markets become increasingly globalised. Deregulation and advances in technology have
    empowered banks to expand their offerings, making them an integral component of all financial sectors. The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Banking and Finance (Top-up) programme combines academic rigour with practical financial skills to meet the needs of demanding careers in the Banking and Finance industry. You will explore topics including:

    • Banking sector regulation
    • Current issues in modern banking
    • The global financial system
    • The role of the academic, analyst, investor and policymaker
    • Why banks exist and how they operate in the modern economy

    This Degree programme introduces you to the main functional areas of Business, including Accounting, Management and Marketing. This gives you the flexibility to work in any area of Banking and Finance, or Business after graduation. You will have the opportunity to put your knowledge into practice by completing an in-depth, independent research project. This will give you the chance to further develop vital employability skills in the areas of research, time management and critical thinking.

    The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Banking and Finance (Top-up) is a Direct Honours Degree programme that consists of 15 modules.
     

    Graduation & Degree Awarded
    Students who successfully complete and pass the modules stipulated in the programme structure will be awarded the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Banking and Finance from University of Essex, United Kingdom.

    The Degree will be the same as that awarded to the on-campus graduates in the United Kingdom.
     

    Honours Awarded
    Honours in the Degree will be awarded based on the total marks of all programmes in accordance with the university programmes regulations.
