I chose to study at University College Dublin (UCD) due to its reputation and was fascinated by the quality of its Degree programmes and lecturers. Both UCD’s local and international fly-in lecturers at Kaplan have excellent experiences, and they have provided great case studies and analyses during the programme.

During my time at Kaplan, I received tremendous help from the local lecturers. Not only were they both supportive and approachable, they also provided me with detailed tips to help me understand concepts. The programme management team at Kaplan are also attentive and responsible.

I pursued the Bachelor of Business Studies (Honours) (Management) (Top-up) Degree programme as Management is an essential aspect of every organisation.  During the programme, I came to realise that Management involves various skills, including the utilisation of mathematical models for tasks like resource allocation, inventory management, and project management. These skills play a crucial role in facilitating effective planning and enhancing overall efficiency.

While helping out in my family business, I found that the UCD programme has enhanced my skills in providing effective and efficient communication, building relations with potential business partners and managing projects in a structured way. I believe Kaplan is a place where you can push your limits and upgrade yourself.

Murdoch University Student (2020)

Formerly pursuing a career in hospitality, I decided to study Psychology as I wanted a fulfilling career helping children with special needs. Murdoch University is a recognised institution, and many of my friends have studied there and recommended it to me. Subsequently, I decided to take up a Murdoch Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Degree programme.

As it provides a comprehensive curriculum, my Murdoch Degree studies have improved my understanding of the psychological challenges of the children I work with, enabling me to develop better techniques to help them.

The lecturers play a key role in my education by being helpful and approachable, and teaching us in a structured and articulate manner. They are even willing to share about their personal work experiences as a reference point to advise us on our future careers in Psychology.

I believe that Murdoch University is a reliable and recognised institution which offers a broad and practical Psychology education for students studying mental health, one that is applicable to real-life scenarios.

Birmingham City University Graduate (2019)

Looking back at my choice, I have no regrets as I managed to get a job as a Legal Administrator with the Ministry of Health after attaining my Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree from Birmingham City University (BCU).

After much research, I had selected BCU for the affordability of its programme and Kaplan’s centralised campus location. Through studying with Kaplan, I found that it lives up to its reputation as a well-known and established institution, and I appreciate its quiet and conducive study environment.

As I was simultaneously working full-time, it was slightly challenging to juggle both classes and work. Despite that, I was able to do well on my very first attempt thanks to my lecturers, who did their best to simplify the curriculum and support my learning through their efforts and candour. They worked tirelessly to prepare us for our papers and I am glad to have been taught by them.

In addition to being intellectually challenging and personally fulfilling, a Law Degree also positions its graduates to be desirable candidates in various fields. I feel that studying this Degree has built my confidence and empowered me to achieve any career I aim for.

I wanted to add value to myself by learning relevant knowledge and skills, so after researching, I decided to pursue a Double Master’s Degree (Master of Business Administration and Master of Human Resources Management) with Murdoch University as it was the best choice for me.

I think the Postgraduate Degree was necessary to help me get ahead in my career. Without a doubt, it has given me an edge over my colleagues. Having the Degree is a justification to my capabilities as an individual for future career opportunities.

During the programme, I juggled work and studies by managing my time and priorities carefully. This experience helped me in many areas. My time management improved, along with my ability to prioritise. It also instilled in me a greater sense of discipline to finish my tasks within the scheduled time frames, even during difficult periods. One of the most surprising benefits is increased self-confidence, as I can look back and reflect on how I earned my masters because of the effort I had put into achieving that goal despite the many hurdles I had to overcome.

When I finally graduated, it evoked a very fulfilling sense of achievement and I am happy to have pursued the Double Master’s Degree with Murdoch, which provided me with the knowledge and support I needed.

My advice to those who are thinking of pursuing a Postgraduate Degree is this: Everyday we face changes and new demands. As the world becomes more competitive, investing in ourselves will be the best investment and you can do so by securing a Master’s Degree to develop yourself to stay competitive and relevant.

Birmingham City University First Class Honours Graduate (2020)

As a former Interior Designer, making a career switch was not easy, but possible through effort and perseverance. I chose Birmingham City University as it provided a fast yet challenging pace of learning and gave me the flexibility to juggle between work and study, helping me to improve on my organisational skills.

I studied for the Bachelor of Arts in International Marketing, which is a 100% assignment-based programme. It gave me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge of the subject and was a progression after the completion of my Diploma in Digital Marketing at Kaplan (in Singapore).

My Degree gave me a great overview of and insight into how the world of digital marketing works. It involves thinking outside the box, which has enhanced my creativity. The online learning class experience also allowed me to spend more time with my loved ones as I had classes at home, and we were encouraged to ask unlimited questions when in doubt.

University College Dublin Graduate (2019)

I had to join the workforce early as I did not do well for my O-level exams and my family was struggling financially. However, I never gave up on my aspirations to become a graduate one day and earn the chance to apply my knowledge to help improve the world around me.

Eventually, I worked hard and managed to save up enough to complete my part-time Diploma in Information Technology with Kaplan, even going on to secure a full-time job at Singapore Press Holdings. That helped to spur my dreams, so that I could go on and pursue a Bachelor’s Degree with University College Dublin (UCD).

I chose UCD due to its global accreditations, industry-relevant subjects and flexible schedules, as I needed to balance my work and studies. Now I feel confident of my future plans, and hope that whatever opportunity comes my way, it incorporates helping others in need.

Northumbria University 1^st Class Honours Graduate (2019)

As Northumbria University is recognised for their outstanding teaching, I felt confident about pursuing my Degree here. The lecturers are experts in their respective professional fields who share their experiences and knowledge with us relating to childhood studies.

Changing childhoods is one of the relevant modules applicable to my current job. It explores the experiences of children and shapes the perspective that they are to be protected, loved and respected. My Degree helps me analyse these concepts of children and youths which are held by society, as a whole. Such concepts are likely to be engrained in people’s minds and possibly translate into policies that directly impact the youth. Through understanding children, it empowers us to care for them.

This programme serves as a stepping-stone for those who wish to work with children and youths, and expands one’s career opportunities in the education sector.

As a Systems Engineer, it can be really difficult to study as I need to juggle my time between my studies, family and career. I chose the University of Portsmouth because it has an excellent ranking in UK and comes with a good quality curriculum, duration and flexible schedule that totally suits my hectic IT professional lifestyle.

One of my key job responsibilities is to build processes and platforms to support software development lifecycles. By taking what I had learnt in my classroom to my workplace, I gained more confidence and mastery in communicating with other Software Engineers. I even applied better practices to performance tools, data structures, automation and even Agile methodologies to improve my work every day.
