With an aim to further my education, I took up the Kaplan Diploma as a pathway into a Bachelor’s Degree programme. I chose to major in Psychology as it has always been a subject of interest to me and allows me to understand individuals from all walks of life in my role as a Staffing Specialist. It is also my dream that one day, I would be able to open a clinic for the needy as a counsellor or psychiatrist.

Upon attaining my Kaplan Diploma, my career progressed, and I was given a promotion at my workplace with a salary increment.

I chose the Kaplan Diploma for its recognition and while it was not the easiest task having to juggle between a new job and schoolwork, I am very thankful for my classmates who have made learning a very effective and enjoyable experience.

Northumbria University 1st Class Honours Graduate (2019)

As Northumbria University specialises in business management, I felt it would be beneficial to take up a programme with them for my career development. The modules were helpful, especially the Strategic Management and Leadership module which contained multiple case studies and team activities. It also required students to have good communication skills alongside data gathering and analysis capabilities.

Given the assignment-based nature of the programme, lecturers explained the module before we proceed with our research work. Classes were also made enjoyable by lecturers with a good sense of humour, and my friendly course mates who supported one another.

I would highly recommend Northumbria University if you are interested in upgrading your skills or looking to improve on your career prospects, especially since you can finish the programme in 16 months.

I had previously attained a Diploma in Hotel & Leisure Facilities Management from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Through that, I gained direct entry into the 2nd year of my Degree programme with Murdoch University in 2019 and expect to graduate in 2021.

I chose to study with Murdoch University as it has reputable alumni in the fields I hope to join upon graduation. Besides, many companies do acknowledge graduates from the University, where the modules offered in its Degree programmes focus on practicality, with insights into the industry. Murdoch University’s flexible study schedule and the way it encourages independent learning suit me better, given the limited time I have juggling different commitments.

Additionally, I am the current President of the Murdoch Singapore-Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS) Student Chapter. All students who take Public Relations (now referred to as Strategic Communication) Degrees will receive a one-year membership to the IPRS Student Chapter upon graduation. Personally, being in the committee has given me great networking opportunities and strengthened my leadership skills. I can look back proudly on these experiences as I advance in my career. As such, it has been one of my biggest takeaways from the programme.

Murdoch University is competitive in terms of Degree recognition, educational experience, modules and double major options offered, and affordability and I would recommend the University to students and working professionals.

I had moved to a new role that provided me with a wider scope of work, exposure and visibility that included global and regional responsibilities, compared to my previous role with responsibilities confined to Singapore.

The programme taught me to think critically, and challenge existing ideas and implement new ones to do my job better. The programme helped me to understand the job function and make new suggestions to improve operations.

As for which aspects of the programme I liked the most, that would be the lecturers, classmates and subjects. The modules were brought to life by having good lecturers.

I had learned to juggle work and studies since pursuing the Murdoch Bachelor of Business Degree programme. The flexibility of the timetable helped me to manage schoolwork, assignments and complete tutorials. Thanks to the great experience in the Bachelor’s Degree programme, I continued on to pursue the MBA with Kaplan as well, knowing very well that the timetable and time management were within my control.

The demands of the MBA programme were tougher, but I managed to do well, with good teammates and lecturers who sincerely cared about education, learning and development.

University College Dublin, 1^st Class Honours Graduate (2020)

To further my studies, I enrolled with University College Dublin as it offers an academically challenging, and satisfying, honorary Degree programme. I feel that achieving these honours represents one’s ability to learn, their discipline to work hard and their motivation to achieve more.

The biggest lesson this programme has taught me is how value should be created. As resources such as time are valuable and limited, this course has helped me understand that it is very important to make full use of my resources to create and deliver value effectively so as to directly make meaningful contributions in life or work.

I opted to major in Finance as I believe it is an exciting field that presents many job opportunities and requires both analytical skills and creativity. This programme has also taught me the importance of collaboration as many projects require in-depth communication, understanding and information exchange. Through the process, I learned how to communicate and cooperate more effectively and correctly. As a Finance student, I appreciate that I was able to learn while also improving my communication skills.

I would recommend UCD to other students as it is ranked among the Top 1% of universities in the World*. In addition, it is an elite business school that also holds the Triple Crown international accreditations, representing the highest form of achievement and recognition for business schools.

The University’s Degrees are recognised by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE). Having recognition in China means more opportunities and options are made available as China’s impact on the world economy is evident.

With Kaplan being a well-established education partner with the CFA Institute, taking up a prep course for the CFA Program at Kaplan was an easy decision for me. Furthermore, its central location makes it easily accessible.

The prep course at Kaplan has also benefited me through networking with other professionals moving toward the same goal. We make use of the knowledge gained to enhance the quality of the financial industry through revolutionary changes.

Our lecturers are smart and witty, and I have found their classes enriching. Their fundamental knowledge of each topic is strong as they are able to provide students with valid explanations to their questions, enhancing our thought processes.

I chose Northumbria University as I like the assignment-based curriculum where we are assessed mostly through projects and presentations. It helps enhance my analytical and critical thinking skills in order to complete the assignments. This Degree only takes 18 months to complete and fits within my schedule with minimal disruption.

Northumbria University’s engaging lecturers have prior industry experience and are willing to share their insights with us, and I strongly believe that Northumbria Degree holders have better opportunities for career progression.
