The BA (Hons) in Hotel Management Degree combines both professional experience with management theory to provide students with the specialist skills to become a successful leader in the hospitality industry.

Students will attend a combination of lectures, tutorials and workshops in this programme. Programmes are scheduled for 5 days a week, 3 hours a day. Student are expected to be on campus for classes, workshops and self-study.
Each unit is assessed by any combination of formal examinations and coursework assessment. Coursework can be the analysis of topical case studies, written reports or essays and formal presentations. Assessment methods may vary according to individual unit requirements.
The duration of the internship is 6 months.
Internship placement will be arranged at the beginning of the Degree programme to offer students first-hand working experience. Students will get the opportunity to collaborate with the hotel’s management to work on a consultancy project to produce an analytical solution that addresses real-world issues faced by the industry. This includes a dissertation that is relevant to the hospitality industry.
This Degree programme accepts a wide range of qualifications, which include:

- Other Private Diplomas and/or Foreign qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
In all cases, the final decision for admission to the programme rests with the University.

Students who successfully complete and pass the modules stipulated in the course structure will be awarded the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Hotel Management from University of Essex.
The Degree will be the same as that awarded to the on-campus graduates.
The tuition fee covers university registration, study guides, intensive seminars and workshops, assignments, examination (if applicable), projects, Degree (if earned) and transcript.
