Holistic Programmes
Competitions
Kaplan supports students who participate in competitions. Skills acquired through competitions will help students develop further key employability skills such as effectiveness, teamwork, communication and problem-solving.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Experience
As part of Employability and Student Affairs' (ESA) efforts to support and encourage students to be socially responsible, The H.E.R.O. (Help Everyone and Reach Out) Club has been established to engage Kaplan staff and students to participate in community services through volunteering, with the common aim of making a difference in the lives of others. These initiatives are also extended to our alumni.
The department also conducts Student Engagement activities in relation to Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), which include mental awareness activities e.g., Painting Positivity realizing your strength with Art, Health & Wellness Care Pack, Exam “First-Aid Kit” Giveaway etc. These initiatives are also extended to our alumni.
Kaplan Student Leadership Programme (KSLP)
Kaplan takes pride in shaping student leaders. Students are invited to join Student Executive Committee (SEC) where students are trained to be leaders and mentors. Through a rigorous training programme, student leaders will acquire leadership skills.
KSLP is a 6-month training programme that develops and motivates students to harness their leadership potential and take charge of their leadership training. To register for the programme, SEC members, club representatives and sub-committee members should have at least a 6-month duration with Kaplan from the registration date to their graduation.
The programme consists of three components:
- Student leadership workshops
- Exposure (e.g., competitions, Kaplan Industry Project organising events)
- Student leadership camp
The ESA team will guide and work with the participants during the entire duration of KSLP. Student leaders should complete these three components to obtain a certification of completion.
Student Clubs & Student Executive Committee (SEC)
Providing a community for students to be nurtured and supported is essential. While students continue their academic journeys, they actively participate in community development and peer-to-peer events. At Kaplan, there are various student interest clubs that students can choose to participate in. These include sports, social, cultural, enrichment, and charity. There are also international community clubs that allow students to remain connected with their peers of their nationalities. To find out more about the student clubs, click here.
The Student Executive Committee (SEC) comprises student leaders trained and mentored by other student leaders in planning and organization roles within the various student clubs.
Student Deals
Kaplan, on occasion, is approached by companies offering exclusive privileges or deals to their products and services. These deals are made available to the students. To find out more, click here.
