The Double Masters programme, encompassing the Master of Business Administration and the Master of Human Resources Management, has helped me to build my human resources skill set. Having this Degree, combined with the benefits of an MBA focused on human resources management, has enabled me to set myself apart from my peers in this competitive hiring landscape.

The programme has given me unique points of view and helped to address business management strategy and human resource concerns. Indeed, it is a versatile qualification that has taught me how to deal with hiring, training and development as well as general people skills, allowing me to apply my knowledge and skill set professionally.

As a renowned global institution, Kaplan provides intensive and comprehensive mock questions by topic.

I enrolled in the CFA Program Level I revision course to clarify my questions and get a deeper understanding of certain concepts with the help of a lecturer. The revision course was extremely helpful as the lecturers drew on key questions that test students’ core understanding of each topic.

Sufficient preparation is needed prior to attending the course. As the course is conducted with up to 100 questions per session, it is not meant as an introduction but as a good platform to assess one’s ability and understanding instead. After attending the revision course, students should be able to identify and focus on their weaker topics for subsequent revision.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in another major and decided to take up the Kaplan Diploma as it offered me the major that I wanted, had time tables that fit my work schedule and reasonable programme fees. Concepts that I learnt from my Accounting, Commercial Law and Human Resource Management modules could be applied to the real world, and upon completion of my Kaplan Diploma, I was given a promotion to Assistant Manager at my workplace.

While it was not easy juggling work, studies and being a parent at the same time, I enjoyed my study experience with Kaplan as I found my programme very interesting. Being the Director of 2 companies with almost 1,000 regular clients, it was important that I managed my schedule well. By setting aside different hours for working, studying and spending time with my children, I managed to juggle both work and studies. However, the most challenging period for me was when I was pregnant with my fourth child during my second year of study. I was close to giving up on the course, but thankfully, I pushed on.

The Master of Professional Accounting has enabled me to gain exemptions for the CPA Australia certification. I am therefore able to achieve another level of education and professional recognition in the Accounting industry. While taking the CPA programme, I found myself being able to advise our clients on matters relating to regulations in Australia and Singapore.

I have seen the value of this Postgraduate Degree and will continue to encourage my staff to further upgrade themselves with Kaplan.

Northumbria University was my choice as it offered a Degree programme I could complete within 18 months with a mostly assignment-based grading. Most classes were held on weekday evenings, which made it possible for me to manage both work and studies with ease.

As a Senior Category Support Executive at Heinemann Asia Pacific, the modules covered were comprehensive, relevant and applicable to my job scope. Prior to taking this Degree, I was having difficulty entering the travel retail industry as I had no experience and lacked academic credentials.

My Degree in Business Management has enabled me to fulfill my dream to work in this sector, as well as empowered me with better knowledge and, subsequently, greater involvement in my company’s projects, helping my career growth.

Intending to progress my career, I chose this programme for its duration and flexible scheduling, as well as the renowned reputation of Monash University for early childhood education. I have also come to appreciate the value of its learning, and the relatable modules were very useful for my work. In particular, the literacy, arts and interdisciplinary modules has further deepened my professional knowledge in working with children and their families.

The quality of the learning was no doubt bolstered by the great lecturers who made efforts to engage us in lessons and provide a welcoming and informative learning environment. The campus location was convenient too, as Kaplan is ideally located in the city.
