Application Process

The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore requires all international students to hold a valid Student’s Pass for their full-time study in Singapore.

The Student’s Pass is applied for by Kaplan Higher Education Academy on behalf of the international applicant. As considerable care is taken by the University and Kaplan Higher Education Academy in the selection of students, they usually take about 3 weeks to process each application.

Therefore, it is advisable for individuals to apply for admission at least 6 weeks before the start of each intake.

How to Apply

Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to apply for your preferred course.

All applications must be submitted to Kaplan Higher Education Academy at least 6 weeks before the start of each intake.

Step 1 - Complete an application form

Please complete the Application Form and submit it to an overseas representative or to our in-country representative. The application form includes the Student’s Pass application too. Kaplan in Singapore submits the Student’s Pass application together with all relevant documents to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore on behalf of selected applicants.

Step 2 - Get an offer of admission

Your application will be assessed based on the academic and English language entry requirements of your selected programme. If your application is successful, you will receive a letter of offer, student contract and eForm.

Step 3 - Accept your offer

All applicants should read the letter of offer, Student Contract and eForm thoroughly before signing the contract. To accept the offer, please sign and return the letter of offer, Student Contract and eForm to your overseas representative or our in-country representative.

Step 4 - Application outcome

Once your Student Pass application is approved, you will receive a copy of an In-Principle Approval letter (IPA) issued by ICA. The IPA serves as an entry visa to Singapore if you are from a visa-required country.

You may proceed to make the payment deposit at this stage as indicated in the payment advise letter.

If your Student Pass application is rejected, you will receive a copy of the rejection letter issued by ICA. You may contact your selected overseas representative or in-country representative for further details.

Note: All Student’s Pass holders have to ensure that their purpose of holding a valid Student’s Pass in Singapore is educational, and are to ensure that their attendance has to be 90% and above.

Step 5 - Reporting Day and Orientation

Students are required to report to campus on Reporting Day. The session is compulsory for all full-time international students.  Arrangements will be made to assist students with medical checkups (if applicable) and the collection of Student’s Pass at ICA. Airport arrival service is also available. Refer to Student Support Services for more information.
