Debra Marie Francis
Full-Time Lecturer
Debra is a multi-faceted professional with many years of experience in English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching, higher education, and research. She specialises in teaching ESL and undergraduate students in the English Language, and ESL and Business & Management undergraduate teaching. She is an innovative lecturer with deep expertise in English and ESL Teaching. She also provides instruction in Foundational Studies, in line with industry needs and utilises educational technology to facilitate effective theory instruction and practical application.
Debra is a passionate educator in the fields of English Language, Academic Writing Skills, Critical Thinking Skills, Communications, New Media, Digital Marketing, Business, Management and Marketing.
With a wealth of experience in working with students and adults from diverse backgrounds and organisations, Debra currently takes on the role of Discipline Coordinator for Professional Business English programme Levels 4 and 5 and teaches on a full-time basis. Debra focuses on teaching local students and students throughout ASEAN, forging and maintaining strong partnerships to develop progression to undergraduate courses. In addition, she contributes her expertise to academic committees, including Kaplan’s Teaching and Learning Committee.
