I chose Murdoch University as it offers an attractive selection of Double Majors. and decided to pursue one instead of a single major Degree as I wanted to take a more interdisciplinary approach to education. After working for more than a decade, I have realised that a sophisticated mind aids in success.

I believe that Criminology would complement Psychology well by providing more perspectives and deepening my understanding of both. Most importantly, the dual specialisation would provide me with more diverse career options in the future.

I would definitely recommend Murdoch to others! I feel very supported and equipped, as the University not only automates most learning processes effectively, but provides extra lessons, help and resources. Above all, they always provide us with a person of contact in case we need assistance. By ensuring such open communication, I feel more assured that I do not have to go through my programme alone.

I recommend a double major Degree for those who can cope with it. The world is a complex web of relationships, and a multidisciplinary approach to studies will equip one better for the challenges ahead.

I observed how businesses have been adjusting and transforming their models to thrive in the e-commerce world. It became evident to me the importance of staying updated in this dynamic business environment. Motivated by this realisation, I decided to take up the Bachelor of Business Studies (Honours) (Digital Business) (Top-up) Degree programme with University College Dublin (UCD) at Kaplan because I believe it is well-aligned with the modern business environment. I am convinced that I have made the right choice.

The modules offered by UCD specifically assist students to comprehend and navigate the realm of digital business. I also found great value in applying what I have learned in my daily business interactions. The part-time study option was very well planned as the classes and exams did not interfere with my work responsibilities. Moreover, we had access to online resources which were incredibly helpful for my exam preparation. Upon completing the Degree programme, I was promoted at my company, which further affirms the impact of this programme on my career.

Despite the challenges of enrolling during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, both Kaplan and UCD have demonstrated their professionalism in managing student affairs. I also appreciate Kaplan’s dedication to selecting and offering programmes that are not only relevant to the present environment but also affordable. As someone who has benefitted from UCD’s programme at Kaplan, I will not hesitate to promote it to others.

Birmingham City University Graduate (2020)

Birmingham City University is my educational provider of choice as it is recognised as a Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. I strongly believe that, with its renowned branding and dedicated teaching staff, I am able to excel and ignite my creativity in learning. Also, I am deeply passionate about the Major in International Business that is offered by BCU. The programme’s syllabus is comprehensive, and the lecturers are specialised in their area of expertise.

The study schedule at BCU fits my current work and personal lifestyle. The classes are after my office hours on weekdays, and the weekends are free for me to spend time with family while also revising and catching up on my studies. The study schedule of 3 days of continuous study with the following week off fits perfectly and is awesome!

The programme’s lecturers have introduced me to the theoretical side of the modules, as well as to practical approaches for applying these theories into action in the real world. They have also posited that the world is ever-changing and that continuous improvisation is important for success in the future. Globalisation is the key, encompassing Global + Localisation.

I chose to work first and study later. However, I realised that, in my current role and for future promotion opportunities, a paper qualification from a recognised educational provider like BCU is necessary to jumpstart my career again. I believe that it is never too late to do so, and it has been a joyful journey with BCU at Kaplan!

I chose Murdoch University for the better academic structure, which has a good balance of assignments and exams as well as useful modules.

The Degree has helped me realise what I want out of my current career and how I can achieve it. It has also taught me the skills required to learn to lead and manage a team, as well as to think from the organisation’s perspective.

Our assignments are well-paced and do not affect our work. The lecturers have always been very helpful and approachable as they are always open to us contacting them if we have any enquiries. The knowledgeable lecturers also ensure that we understand what we are being taught during lectures and help us keep track of our assignment checkpoints.

I would recommend Murdoch to others because I feel that it is a reputable University with a very organised and easy to follow course structure. The timetable is flexible, which is good for part-time students such as myself who are juggling school with full-time work.

Northumbria University 1st Class Honours Graduate (2019)

I decided to study at Northumbria University as they offered a programme that was relevant to my job and interests. The subjects covered are holistic, ranging from Human Resource Management, Digital Business, and Logistics and Supply Chain Management. On top of that, Northumbria University is a recognised institution and I am delighted to achieve an Honours Degree.

Almost all of the modules are applicable and relevant to my current job and industry, where I work with various stakeholders to achieve my KPIs. They also impart qualities and provide training on becoming a manager who can lead projects and resolve select situations.

Most of the modules test students on case-study assignments, exposing them to current market sentiment. On top of a relatable curriculum, the programme made me think out of the box such that I can contribute to benefit my company.

I would recommend Northumbria University as it rewards commitment with great success.

Murdoch University Graduate (2020)

For my self-improvement and to better understand business and management skills, I opted to advance my studies. I chose Murdoch University as it is a reputable institution in Singapore and I was familiar with it. Also, with a Murdoch University qualification, a lot of companies are opening their doors for us to enter at higher positions.

To further extend my knowledge to improve my management skills, I decided on studying Double Majors instead of a Single Major, and I would recommend others do the same as. Considering that you are already in it to fulfil your aim for a Degree, why not maximise your time and effort to acquire another specialisation which can propel you to greater heights. Since business makes the world goes round, I believe management knowledge is also good to have when starting your own.

While studying part-time, I found the Knowledge Management and Strategic Management modules to be beneficial as I was already exposed to some of the learnings during my service in the SAF as well as in my current employment.  On top of that, the Business Analytics module was useful for my understanding of the different fundamentals of decision making in business.

I appreciate Murdoch’s lecturers as I felt that they did their jobs amazingly well, ensuring that all students understood the lesson and scrutinising our assignments to ensure we can score well for it. Despite being in an adult learning environment, some lecturers even made the class interactive by implementing games and rewards to encourage us to do well in class.

Working as a Senior Airport Emergency Service Officer involves responding to real-time incidents in the airport, and it takes a lot of tenacity to manage a team while handling a crisis simultaneously. Hence, managing them well during peacetime will ensure optimum performance in times of crisis, and the management skillset I’ve acquired helps me do so. In fact, it was thanks to the Degree that I was able to apply for a management role in the AES, and I aim to set up my own business eventually.

I decided on Murdoch University primarily because they offer a Double Major Degree programme in Psychology and Criminology. I had also heard that this University is a great place to pursue a Degree.

Choosing to pursue two majors helps one gain more knowledge and expands one’s knowledge in the selected majors. My interest in the two majors was what drove me to take a Double Major programme.

Furthermore, I feel that Psychology and Criminology complement each other, as each specialisation is important in understanding certain aspects of the other.

The lecturers are great, as they are very helpful when it comes to our learning, and more than willing to answer our questions and guide us along in our studies. When we ask them questions, they respond in an efficient manner too.

This year, receiving the University’s Top 2% Vice Chancellor’s Commendation for Academic Excellence Award showed me that hard work and perseverance indeed pay off. I want to continue striving to achieve the best, and I am happy that Murdoch recognised my efforts.

I would recommend Murdoch to others, because it’s one of the best universities that allows you to pursue your interests and to make progress in the programmes with ease.

Birmingham City University First Class Honours Graduate (2020)

As a former Interior Designer, making a career switch was not easy, but possible through effort and perseverance. I chose Birmingham City University as it provided a fast yet challenging pace of learning and gave me the flexibility to juggle between work and study, helping me to improve on my organisational skills.

I studied for the Bachelor of Arts in International Marketing, which is a 100% assignment-based programme. It gave me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge of the subject and was a progression after the completion of my Diploma in Digital Marketing at Kaplan (in Singapore).

My Degree gave me a great overview of and insight into how the world of digital marketing works. It involves thinking outside the box, which has enhanced my creativity. The online learning class experience also allowed me to spend more time with my loved ones as I had classes at home, and we were encouraged to ask unlimited questions when in doubt.
