I chose Northumbria University as their grading was purely assignment based, meaning only projects and essays to focus on instead of cramming for exams. Their Mass Communication Degree programme was also well-known, and was a great choice for me as I have always wanted to be a writer and enjoy expressing myself through the written word.

The curriculum has taught me many things, such as Public Relations and Advertising, which simulate real-life experiences. Even though I am not in either of these sectors, it is good to know how they operate as it makes working with them much easier. The lecturers also had prior industry experience and shared their insights with us.

Our assignments required some critical thinking but with a flexible schedule, they were manageable without procrastination. I had ample time to work on these assignments and also take on freelance writing work, alongside other hobbies.

I would highly recommend the Northumbria University Mass Communication Degree programme given the unique competitive advantages it provides you. As you will complete it earlier compared to your peers, you can begin accumulating more work experience sooner.

When I entered the workforce, I was young and did not have many qualifications. As I continued working, I realised the importance of having proper qualifications to progress at work. Furthermore, I wanted to do something more meaningful and helpful to others.

Hence, I decided to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Guidance and Counselling at Northumbria University. As I am responsible for assisting clients in achieving a better quality of life, I found what I had learnt from my Degree programme can be applied when meeting my clients.

This Degree programme not only boosts my confidence and self-esteem at work, but also provided me with a sense of achievement. My achievement was validated when I got promoted from Programme Officer to Programme Executive.

I would definitely recommend Northumbria University as it takes only 18 months to attain a Degree. Moreover, the lecturers are very engaging, and they are willing to guide us whenever we need help.

I felt lost in 2020, about to turn 40 in a couple of years and unsure if I should switch to a career in Logistics. I had heard that the Logistics sector is fast paced, where there are limited opportunities given my age and lack of experience. At the same time, I did not see myself being able to further progress in my then-career in engineering.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, I saw studying at Northumbria University as an opportunity. Based on the number of modules I needed to take, the duration of the programme seemed manageable. Furthermore, my friends, who had also graduated from this programme, had shared very positive feedback. Hence, I decided to begin my learning journey with Northumbria University at Kaplan.

The programme offered modules that allowed us to study about global logistics companies and how their operations changed due to the macro environment, and the modules were helpful for those finding a foothold in the Logistics and Supply Chain Management industry or those who want to learn more about the industry.

Not only was the curriculum fully assignment-based, but we could also ask questions about the assignment or seek clarification on the lesson. Although I had no prior background in this industry, the lecturers were supportive and helpful, and they were always willing to answer all my questions.

Through this programme and the attainment of my Degree, I have successfully transitioned into a new career as a Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) Procurement Leader at Safran.

I chose Northumbria University as I like the assignment-based curriculum where we are assessed mostly through projects and presentations. It helps enhance my analytical and critical thinking skills in order to complete the assignments. This Degree only takes 18 months to complete and fits within my schedule with minimal disruption.

Northumbria University’s engaging lecturers have prior industry experience and are willing to share their insights with us, and I strongly believe that Northumbria Degree holders have better opportunities for career progression.

I decided to study with Northumbria University at Kaplan in Singapore as it is among the top 1% of elite institutions worldwide*. I was also attracted to the largely assignment-based learning, which allowed me to better plan my time around my work schedule to complete and submit assignments. As for my choice of major, I chose it as it is related to my current job and I wanted to enhance my knowledge in the field.

The programme has helped to strengthen my job performance. With its assignment-based curriculum, it gave us a more practical education, allowing students to apply the knowledge learned in classes through the assignments given, which were similar to projects assigned at work. In addition, all the research done based on real companies or situations gave me much exposure to current market sentiments and trends, to learn and improve on some “outdated” practices.

Given the good reputation of Kaplan and its collaboration with reputable universities, taught by very knowledgeable lecturers, I would recommend Kaplan.

This Degree has been vital in opening up new opportunities for me, and would provide a boost in my career progression to management level and beyond.  The assignment based learning approach helped bridge the huge academic learning gap from Diploma to Degree. Several modules have proven extremely useful and ideal for my role as an Operations Executive, where I work towards optimising productivity for a cohesive operation.

With its experienced lecturers and a well-balanced curriculum, my Northumbria University education at Kaplan has allowed me to simultaneously manage my assignments and work. In addition to its easily accessible location, Kaplan’s renowned reputation was a major factor for me when deciding on which institution to enrol in. I sought to progress in my profession and felt that Northumbria University was a good choice, being a reputable university with a high graduation rate that also offered a programme relevant to my current job.

Its modules are well-rounded and suited towards the management level in the hospitality industry, which has helped improve my knowledge vastly. With all modules in sync to current industry trends, I am well prepared to take on my new role.

Even though it has been 10 years since taking my Diploma, I managed to adapt well due to experienced and helpful lecturers who provided me with insightful advice and adequate guidance. The assignment-based curriculum consisted mostly of research and learning about current trends, which enabled me to widen my views on certain subject matters and pick up on ongoing issues.

I would highly recommend Northumbria University as its curriculum and flexibility of schedule is great for a working adult. In addition, its Degrees are recognised and come from a reputable University.

I sought to add to my professional achievements academically and decided that a Northumbria University Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration Degree would be a good choice. My career as a Human Resources Practitioner requires me to be multifaceted in my role and the programme’s modules help to support my soft skills when managing those different facets.

The curriculum included a wide spectrum of relevant academic topics and subject matters, which allowed me to acquire a deeper understanding of them aside from Human Resources. The diverse array of modules also catered to my personal and professional interests.

With a rigorous study mode that required in-depth analysis of different case studies, conceptualising ideas and applying appropriate frameworks to them made for an extremely fruitful learning journey for me.
