With the aim to enhance the confidence of students and their parents in the quality of education in Singapore, the Committee for Private Education, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG/CPE) has stipulated that all Private Education Institutions (PEIs) must sign a PEI-Student Contract with students. The contract lays out the important terms and conditions governing the relationship between the student and PEI. Kaplan Higher Education Academy and Kaplan Higher Education Institute will honour all terms and conditions spelt out in the contract and in all communication materials.
Students may download a copy of the PEI-Student contract.
Before students proceed to sign the student contract, students are required to understand the terms and conditions of the student contract. Please click here for further details.
Miscellaneous Fees Policy
Cooling-Off Period
The PEI will provide the student with a cooling-off period of seven (7) working days after the date that the Contract has been signed by both parties.
The student will be refunded the highest percentage (stated in Schedule D) of the fees already paid if the student submits a written notice of withdrawal to the PEI within the cooling-off period, regardless of whether the student has started the programme or not.
Kaplan is comprised of Kaplan Higher Education Academy and Kaplan Higher Education Institute and has in place a Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) to protect the paid fees of both local and international students. The FPS serves to protect the student’s fees in the event that the PEI is unable to continue operations due to insolvency, and/or regulatory closure. In addition, the FPS protects the student if the PEI fails to pay penalties or return fees to the student arising from judgments made against it by the Singapore courts.
The Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) is applicable to ALL students (regardless of nationality and the type of passes ie. Dependent’s Pass, Student’s Pass, Work Permit, etc). It is mandatory for all students to apply for FPS and sign a student contract when they enrol for programmes with any PEI with EduTrust Certification or Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF).
Kaplan has appointed Lonpac Insurance Bhd as our FPS insurance provider. Under the FPS insurance scheme, students’ fees are insured by them. In case of events, as stated above, students will be able to claim their unconsumed fees from Lonpac Insurance Bhd.
