Emeritus Professor Meredith Lawley

Professor Meredith Lawley has over 30 years’ experience in Faculty and University level management roles, incorporating responsibility for the design and delivery of programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in multiple modes (face-to-face, online and intensive). Professor Lawley has won a national award (ALTC) for her teaching and has significant experience teaching international students both in Australia and overseas. Her PhD and early research were around how international students choose destinations for their education, while more recently. She has researched and published widely in food and agribusiness, including seven years as the Lead for Consumer Insights at the Australian Seafood Cooperative Research Centre. She currently has a H-index of 26, has published over 40 refereed journal articles and successfully supervised 28 doctoral students.
At various times, she has served in a range of University Committees, most recently as the Deputy Chair of the University of the Sunshine Coast’s (UniSC) Academic Board (2020 – 2023) and Chair of the UniSC Academic Appeals Committee (2018 – 2021). She has served as an expert for several government education accreditation bodies since 2004, including the Queensland Office of Higher Education, and from 2013 as a TEQSA expert where she has undertaken over 30 expert reviews.
