Overview
Have you ever wondered how your favourite video games are developed? As a software developer and computer programmer, you can help turn an idea into a video or mobile game. With increasing opportunities in this growing industry, you will gain the skills needed to work in both the International Games industry and the Information Technology industry.
In this Degree programme, you will learn games software design and the development and processes involved in creating computer, mobile, and video games. You will also explore 3D graphics and animation, artificial intelligence, games mechanics, games software design, games software development and production, interaction design, and user interface for games.
In the final year of your programme, you will take part in an IT Professional Practice Project module. This includes working in a team with other students and consulting with real clients to recommend, develop, and implement new technologies to solve business problems.
You have the option to enrol in either Single or Double Majors.

3Instead of 28 – 36 months, subject to university’s approval. Applicants with a Polytechnic Diploma may be exempted from up to 12 units and can gain entry to Year 2 of the programme. Applicants with a Murdoch University-recognised Kaplan Diploma or a private Diploma may be exempted from up to 8 units and can also gain entry to Year 2 of the programme.
