Mark Schenker
Full-Time Lecturer

 

Mark is an experienced English language educator with more than a decade of international teaching and academic leadership experience in Singapore, Japan, and the United States. He specialises in English as a Second Language (ESL), academic skills, curriculum development, and the design of engaging learning experiences for students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Mark has taught children, teenagers, and adults across a wide range of English proficiency levels. His areas of expertise include academic reading and writing, vocabulary development, grammar, communication skills, and general English. He has delivered more than 8,000 hours of adult ESL instruction and has extensive experience developing teaching materials for group classes, private learners, and structured language programmes.

Before joining Kaplan Higher Education Academy, Mark served as an Academic Manager, where he led curriculum development, evaluated and standardised teaching materials, established teaching guidelines, and supported the professional development of educators. His teaching approach emphasises active participation, practical language use, and carefully structured support that helps learners build confidence and prepare for further academic study.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Television, Radio and Film and English and Textual Studies, Syracuse University (2012)
  • Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, International TEFL and TESOL Training (2015)
