  • About the Programme

    If you are interested in taking your teaching knowledge to the next level, this programme offers you the chance to study a specialist area of your interest and develop higher level capabilities.

    You can choose one of the three majors that you are not only passionate about but are a priority for Australian schools:
    - E-Learning
    - Inclusive and Special Needs Education
    - International Education

    Our flexible programme addresses contemporary educational issues currently facing the teaching workforce. You will learn directly from leading academics in their field, who will teach you new pedagogies, contents and perspectives. You will graduate with knowledge across your chosen major, a different outlook on contemporary teaching challenges and a support network.

    All teachers have a responsibility to understand diversity and teach in ways that are inclusive of all students. Through this programme, you will gain specialist knowledge in order to assist in negotiating the complexity of supporting students with a diverse range of abilities and backgrounds.

    You will be able to identify and understand diverse learning needs, as well as develop and implement strategies to enhance learning outcomes for these students. The focus will be on inclusion and diversity – learning in the classroom for all students.

     

    Graduation & Degree Awarded

    Students who successfully complete and pass the units stipulated in the programme structure will be awarded the Graduate Certificate in Education Inclusive and Special Needs Education from Murdoch University, Australia.

    The Graduate Certificate will be the same as that awarded to the on-campus graduates in Australia.

  • Admission Criteria
    Academic Requirements

    The Graduate Certificate programme accepts the following qualification:

    • A Bachelor of Education (AQF Level 7) or equivalent OR a Bachelor’s Degree from any discipline (AQF Level 7) and at least 2 years full time (or equivalent) of teaching experience in the education sector.
    English Language Requirements
    • Equivalent of an Academic IELTS overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0.
    • Applicants are required to meet Murdoch University’s English language requirement. Click here for more information.
    Working Experience
    • For students with any Bachelor’s Degree (AQF Level 7) but without Bachelor of Education degree only – At least two years full time (or equivalent) of teaching experience in the education sector.

    In all cases, the final decision on admission to the programme rests with the University.
