About the Programme
The Monash Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood is a highly respected qualification designed for educators who are passionate about working with young children in preschool, childcare centre or kindergarten. It also provides an excellent headstart for current educators who hold a Diploma in child’s services, early childhood care and education or equivalent, looking to upgrade themselves.
Upon completion of the programme, you will be qualified as a skilled and effective early childhood education professional with in-depth knowledge in children’s creative, physical, personal, intellectual development and social capabilities. This programme will enhance your professional capacity and deepen your understanding of the complex field of education, providing a pathway for research and further learning.
Graduation & Degree Awarded
Students who successfully complete and pass the modules stipulated in the programme structure will be awarded the Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood from Monash University, Australia.
The Degree will be the same as that awarded to the on-campus graduates in Australia.

Minimum Class Size-
35 students
Minimum class size is subject to change and approval by Monash University and Kaplan Higher Education Academy. Class may commence with fewer students than indicated above, subject to resource availability. In the event of cancellation, you will be notified at least 1 week before the programme commencement date, and our consultants will contact you to advise on a backup plan.

Admission CriteriaAcademic Requirements
Year 2 entry requirement:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Teaching (DECCE-T); OR
- Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (or equivalent)
- Other equivalent qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
Advanced standing entry to final year applicable with the following qualification:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Teaching (DECCE-T) AND Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Leadership (DECCE-L); OR
- Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Teaching (DECCE-T) AND Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (or equivalent)
- Other equivalent qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
English Language Requirements- IELTS 6.5 or equivalent; OR

The programme is not accredited by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA). Graduates who wish to work in the local early childhood sector will need to submit an application to ECDA for Teacher Registration via a preschool. Approval by ECDA will be subjected to the applicant meeting the requirements for Teacher Registration.
The Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood offered via Kaplan Higher Education Academy is a qualification designed for the Singapore market. This programme is not accredited by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
