Industry: RMIT University First Class Honours Graduate (2023)
Programme taken: Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Honours) (Top-up)

This Degree programme has broadened my knowledge of engineering structures and their behaviour. With this knowledge, I can better understand the behaviour of different aircraft structural elements and contribute more at my workplace. Modules like the Mechanics of Solids and Finite Element Analysis have helped me in my work as I am able to apply what I have learnt, such as conducting stress analysis on the parts we have designed. Thankfully, my company recognised my contributions and promoted me to a role with bigger responsibilities.
Not only were the course fees for its part-time programme competitive, but I also found that the programme offered by Kaplan was the most suitable for working individuals like myself. Being in this programme has given me a good insight into what I can achieve as an RMIT student, and I intend to further my studies in the next few years.
I would definitely recommend RMIT at Kaplan as there are plenty of opportunities that you can seize while studying here. I have gained a lot from this programme and I am very satisfied with what I have achieved in the past 3 years.

To pave the way for career development, I decided to pursue a Mechanical Engineering Degree at RMIT University. I wanted to acquire in-depth knowledge of engineering fundamentals and expand my horizons in the field of Engineering.
I strongly believe that investing in academics, such as learning how to communicate with peers, comprehending technical jargon, crafting presentations and reading reports, is essential for improving oneself. For example, the Management of Engineering Projects and Research classes have enhanced my computer skills and soft skills, expertise which are crucial in the competitive job market.
By taking a part-time Degree programme while working full-time, I am able to gain technical knowledge as well as work experience, both of which I believe help boost career stability, personal development and job satisfaction. My promotion from Assistant Engineer to Executive Engineer is a testament to my belief.
